The Cromwell Group of Effingham’s General Manager Marv Phillips will retire today after 40 years in the radio business. He has been at the helm of the Effingham Market for 12 years. Cromwell Group Owner Bayard “Bud” Walters told Effingham Radio News that Phillips would be missed.
Mr. Phillips first started with the Cromwell Group in 1979 when he and Mr. Walters began WPFR-FM in Terre Haute, IN, but has worked in several markets for the privately owned media company. “Over the years he has managed and sold for us in Owensboro and Lexington.” Mr. Walters said. Mr. Phillips is choosing to retire for health reasons. Account Representative Sheila Myers will take over as his interim replacement.
Congratulations to Marv for his many years of service to the community and radio industry.
