
An overturned Ford Ranger on the west side of Banker Street.
A two vehicle accident occurred around 11:20 a.m. across from Kingery Printing on S. Banker Street. Effingham Chief of Police Jeff Fuesting confirmed that at least one driver was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital for treatment of injuries. The Effingham Fire Department confirmed that the other driver was transported to the hospital as well.
Multiple fire crews were on scene and reported that the driver of an overturned Ford Ranger was unconscious and pinned in the vehicle when they arrive. The other vehicle involved was a gray Chevrolet Venture. Police are still determining the cause of the accident.
Chief Fuesting said the investigation would be turned over to the Illinois State Police “due to the injuries involved.”
