Effingham City Hall beat Haines City, FL over the weekend in the Engaging Local Government Leaders’ City Hall Competition and now faces Redwood City, California in the Sweet 16 Round. Effingham knocked out Roanoke, VA in the first round.
The national contest pits city halls against each other in a bracket style tournament. Residents vote online for their favorite city hall and whichever one has the most votes advances in the bracket. The winner will earn the coveted Leslie Barbara Knope Greatest City Hall Trophy, based on the fictional, enthusiastic character from the hit show “Parks and Recreation.”
Effingham has advanced past two cities with significantly larger populations in rounds and one and two and is now facing yet another uphill battle against Redwood City’s population of 80,000. You can participate in the contest by voting HERE! Voting for the Sweet 16 round ends this Friday at 11 p.m. sharp!
