Four more have been arrested in connection with a Mattoon home invasion that occurred on Sunday, February 19th. During the incident, three armed men entered an apartment in the 4000 block of Lake Land Blvd and attempted to rob and assault several victims. On Monday between the hours of 2 and 6 PM, Mattoon Police arrested 24 year old Edward D. Allen, 18 year old Jack M. Nixon, 22 year old Brianna N. Harshbarger, and 20 year old Danny Tejada, all of Charleston.
Allen is charged with Home Invasion, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Nixon is charged with Home Invasion and Armed Robbery. Both men allegedly entered the victim’s apartment and robbed them at gunpoint. Allen also allegedly struck one of the victims in the head with a pistol.
Harshbarger is charged with armed robbery. She is alleged to have colluded with other suspects to lure some male residents out of the apartment in order to inspect the residence for firearms and occupants moments before the robbery took place. Tejada is charged with armed robbery. The charge alleges that he aided by providing a vehicle to transport the suspects to and from the scene of the robbery.
Mattoon and Charleston authorities served two search warrants at residences on West Polk Avenue and Edgar Drive, both in Charleston, on Monday and located money, guns, and drugs. Two vehicle were also seized.
21 year old Kenneth Moultrie, also of Charleston, was arrested the Monday following the incident and is also facing charges of Armed Robbery.
Police are still seeking 20 year old Andrew Tristian Allen, of Charleston in connection with the home invasion. Information can be provided anonymously to Coles County Crimestoppers at 866-345-8488.
