The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Chip’s Marine, and the Lake Volunteer Association are asking for help from anglers that are dedicated to protecting the fish habitats in Lake Shelbyville. Therefore, they are holding a meeting on Tuesday, April 25th at 6:30pm at the Lake Shelbyville Visitors Center Auditorium.
Recently, the “Lake Shelbyville Cube” was built to increase fish habitats. With the success of the cube, as well as the interest expressed, Lake Shelbyville authorities are looking to expand their program. To accomplish this, funding from the Reservoir Fisheries Habitat Partnership by Friends of Reservoirs is needed. However, this funding is awarded based on a competitive basis. The more interest a project has increases its chance of funding.
