The Greenup man charged with the Armed Robbery of the Greenup Dollar General has been sentence to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
68 year old, David Croy appeared in Cumberland County Court on October 23rd with State’s Attorney, Bryan Robbins, and Defense Attorney, Ed Deters, for a sentencing hearing after his October 18th Jury Trial date was vacated in September. Croy pled guilty but mentally ill to the charge of Armed Robbery, a Class X Felony. Judge Righter then sentenced Croy to 10 years in prison to be followed by 3 years of mandatory supervised release, or parole. Croy was given credit for 216 days served.
Croy was arrested in March for a robbery that took place at the Dollar General located on North Haughton Highway in Greenup.
