Effingham, Il (Via O’ Fallon) – HSHS Medical Group is pleased to welcome Sumbul Meraj, MD, infectious disease physician, to their team of providers.
Dr. Meraj is now seeing patients every Wednesday from 9 am to 1 pm, at HSHS Medical Group Infectious Disease, located at 775 Sunset Blvd, Suite B, in O’Fallon, IL.
Dr. Meraj completed her medical degree at Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed an internal medicine residency at St. Joseph Hospital, affiliated with the University of Illinois at Chicago, and completed an infectious disease fellowship at Saint Louis University Hospital.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Meraj is a member of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Meraj specializes in the prevention of infection and infection control; treating conditions requiring selective use of antibiotics; diagnosing and treating fevers of unknown origin; diagnosing and treating infectious disease in HIV population; tropical medicine; and wound care.
In her free time, Dr. Meraj enjoys writing poetry, reading, singing, art, literature and travel.
