CHICAGO, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The Cardinals and Cubs had their scheduled game postponed at Wrigley Field on Monday.
It was to have been the start of a three-game series.
That game will be made up on Saturday, July 21st as part of a day-night doubleheader that’s in the midst of a five-game series in Chicago.
The Cards just swept four games at Cincinnati.
Cards And Cubs To Try Again Tonight
The Cardinals and Cubs will try again tonight at Wrigley Field.
It’s now a two-game, weather-shortened series between the NL Central rivals. Adam Wainwright has been pushed back to today, with Tyler Chatwood still the scheduled starter for Chicago.
The Cardinals are second in the division at 9-and-7, two games behind the Pirates.
Cardinals Activate Gyorko, Gregerson
A couple of key veterans are back with the Cardinals.
They activated infielder Jedd Gyorko and closer Luke Gregerson from the disabled list on Monday.
Both players had been sidelined with hamstring issues.
To make room, the Cardinals optioned reliever Mike Mayers and utility man Yairo Munoz to Triple-A Memphis.
