Springfield, IL -(Effingham Radio)- This week’s forecast isn’t doing anyone near a river in southern Illinois any favors.
The National Weather Service is leaving a flood warning in effect till further notice for several areas in the southern third of the state.
Both the Ohio and Mississippi rivers are flooded, and will stay flooded till almost the end of the month.
There’s also flooding along the Big Muddy and the Kaskaskia.
Forecasters say southern Illinois will see more rain this week, and that could push the rivers even higher.
