Lawrenceville, IL -(Effingham Radio)- A man is dead after he was hit and killed by a vehicle while he was laying in the street.
Robert Reeves was killed Friday night on 700 North near the intersection of Billet Lane in Lawrenceville.
Police say Reeves was lying down and wearing dark clothing when he was hit, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges have been filed and the incident is still under investigation.

PRELIMINARY
Preliminary investigative details indicate Unit 1 (pedestrian) was laying in the westbound lane of traffic of 700 North near the intersection of Billet Lane, Lawrenceville, IL. A passing vehicle stopped facing East to attempt to assist Reeves as Unit 2 approached traveling West. Reeves was lying down and wearing dark colored clothing. Unit 2 struck Reeves f. Lawrenceville Coroner Shannon Steffey pronounced Reeves deceased at 9:19 p.m. on 04/19/19. No charges have been filed at this time.
