Springfield, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Police in Illinois are releasing data from a speeding awareness day.
The Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police partnered with Families Against Chronic Excessive Speeding on July 24th to focus on catching speeders.
Over three-thousand tickets were issued and over 18-hundred warnings were given that day across the state.
Officers also handed out thousands of flyers and gave nearly two dozen presentations about not speeding.
