Clinton, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Family and friends are mourning as a 25-year-old Phoenix police officer and Clinton, Illinois native was laid to rest.
Officer Blake Newman died last week in Arizona in a motorcycle crash after he lost control of the bike he was riding.
A service was held yesterday at First Christian Church in Clinton, followed by burial at Oak Park Cemetery.
Newman had followed in the footsteps of an entire family of first responders, including his grandfather who was a Clinton police officer.
