Anna, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Internal Investigation (DII) Agents arrested two former employees of Choate Mental Health and Development Center, located in Anna, Illinois for Official Misconduct and other charges.
The Illinois State Police arrived at Choate Mental Health and Development Center on March 22, 2018 to investigate allegations of the abuse of mental health patients. After a comprehensive investigation, the Union County Grand Jury issued indictments on January 6, 2020 for Sheri L. Fish, Cody A. Barger and Johnathan C. Lingle.
Sheri L. Fish, a 49 year old female of Sherman, IL and Cody A. Barger, a 25 year old of Grantsburg, IL have been taken into custody. Fish was transported to the Sangamon County Jail on January 16, 2020 where she is being held on one count of Official Misconduct with a $25,000, 10% applies bond. Barger was transported to the Union County Jail on January 14, 2020 where he is being held on two counts of Official Misconduct and two counts of Obstruction of Justice on a $25,000, 10% applies bond. Although Union County warrants for one count of Official Misconduct and one count of Obstruction of Justice for Jonathan C. Lingle, a 29 year old male of Goreville, IL have been entered, officials have not been able to apprehend him at this time.
