Effingham, IL -(Vandalia Radio)- In spite of legalization, municipalities, cities, and counties across Illinois are debating the legality of selling marijuana.
While several communities are open to the idea of dispensaries, others like Newton, Illinois, are imposing an outright ban on the sale of marijuana. Laws in Clark County also ban dispensaries. Olney, Lawrenceville, and others are approving sales tax, saying it would bring in revenue.
