Mattoon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Mattoon Police arrested Larry K. Stephens, 50 years of age of Mattoon, for an active Coles County probation violation warrant on a 2018 Possession of Methamphetamine charge, as well as for Possession of Methamphetamine and Resisting a Police Officer.
The arrest occurred on 02/19/2020 at 11:47am in the 100 block of Moultrie Ave in Mattoon. The charges allege an officer located and detained Mr. Stephens for the active warrant, at which time Mr. Stephens began to resist the officers attempts to take him into custody. The charges also allege Mr. Stephens had possession of methamphetamine during the time of his arrest.
Mr. Stephens was taken to the Coles County Jail.
