Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation is pleased to announce the following recipients for The 2019 Bill and Jacquelyn Jordan Anderson Youth Grants: Arts Connection of Central IL, Ballard Nature Center, Preschool for All, Immanuel Lutheran Church (After School Care Program) and Effingham Art Guild. Grants are awarded annually to nonprofit organizations serving youth in Effingham County.
(Above) Arts Connection of Central IL was awarded $1,345 for the program entitled Summer Reading Kick-off Event. (Above) Immanuel Lutheran Church was awarded $1,000 for its After School Care program, which serves families from both Altamont schools who have children in grades kindergarten through sixth grade on a cost-free basis so that all can afford to attend. Jacquelyn Jordan Anderson was deeply involved in the development of community programs designed to benefit the youth of Effingham County. As a renowned artist, Jacky was also committed to the promotion of fine arts programs. She felt the future of a community depended on the strength of its youth and their ability to express themselves creatively.
Bill Anderson was a long time and respected member of the Effingham community. A renowned lithographer, color separator, cartoonist, and painter, Bill was a terrific artist in his own right.
The Bill and Jacquelyn Jordan Anderson Fund for Youth, a fund of Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation, is committed to supporting youth programs in Effingham County.
