Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The Democrats will take the top spot on the November ballot in Effingham County.
Democratic candidates won in the order of placement selection Thursday for established political party candidates on ballots for the Nov. 3 general election. That means Republican candidates take second placement on the fall ballot, followed by any other party candidates.
The random selection was completed Thursday morning in the Effingham County Clerk office, said Kerry Hirtzel, as County Clerk manages local elections.
This selection method is used to determine the placement of candidates on ballots for partisan elections. Residents are also reminded to check on their voter registration status so they can vote this fall. Contact the County Clerk office during regular office hours to check on registration or file as a new voter in the county. The County Clerk office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
