Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office realizes the importance of inmate visitation in order for the people incarcerated here to maintain a close connection with their families.
The State of Illinois is entering Phase 4 of the COVID-19 pandemic response on June 26th, and the Effingham County Jail will begin a modified jail visitation procedure on Tuesday, June 30th, 2020.
Below Are The Following Modified Rules For Visitation:
- Male inmate visitation on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 PM – 4 PM
- Female inmate visitation on Tuesdays from 10 AM – 12 PM
- Inmates will be allowed 2 – 15 minute visits per week.
- All visits will be scheduled in advance (i.e. John Doe here 07/14/20 at 1:00 PM till 1:15 PM) by calling the Jail at (217) 342-3866 Monday through Friday from 7 AM – 3 PM to schedule a visit.
- All previous Visitation rules apply, regarding a valid photo ID, and proper attire — no tank tops and only long pants.
- Only the scheduled visitors will be allowed inside the lobby/waiting area.
- Masks are preferred while inside the County building.
- Inmates that are still undergoing the Jail’s 14-day quarantine, will not be permitted to visit until they have been symptom free and cleared from the quarantine process.
- If you have, or have had any of the following symptoms, please do not schedule a visit. If you have, or have had, fever of 100.4 degrees or greater, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle aches, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, been in contact with anyone suspected of having COVID-19 or have traveled outside of the country within the past 10 days, please do not schedule a visit.
We ask that visitors please abide by all of the Jail’s COVID-19 screenings and procedures.
