Baltimore, MD -(Effingham Radio)- Four states are reporting record highs for the number of new coronavirus cases today.
For the second straight day the nation has seen an increase of more than 40-thousand new cases. Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Nevada all reached record highs. Arizona did not top its record, but it did set a new record for hospitalizations. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said he regrets allowing bars to reopen so early, saying he’s surprised by how fast the virus is spreading. The U.S. has now topped two-and-a-half million infections and more than 125-thousand people have died from COVID-19 complications in this country. Worldwide, the coronavirus has claimed nearly a half-million lives.
