VitalSkin Dermatology Now Open In Mattoon

Mattoon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Jeremy Youse, MD and his team recently announced that their state-of-the-art, full-service dermatology practice, VitalSkin Dermatology at Mattoon, is now open for patient appointments. The office is located at 917 Remington Rd. in Mattoon, off I-57 by Walmart and Home Depot.

“After months of construction and planning, my team and I are excited to finally serve the skin care needs of Mattoon and the surrounding communities.” Dr. Youse said. “We provide full dermatology and cosmetic services. This includes care for common issues like acne, rosacea and psoriasis to cosmetic facial injections to skin cancer screenings and treatment.”

Skin cancer treatment is a major focus of the practice. As a fellowship trained Mohs surgeon through the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), Dr. Youse uses Mohs surgery to treat and eliminate skin cancer. This has the highest success rate of all skin cancer treatments – up to 99%. In most cases, Mohs surgery can also be done in one office visit for patient convenience and cost-effectiveness. Dr. Youse has completed over 20,000 Mohs cases in his career.

To complete an ACMS-approved fellowship, dermatologists must participate in a minimum of 500 Mohs cases, accurately interpret tissue samples removed during Mohs surgery and perform a variety of reconstructions, from simple closures to more complicated repairs. Dr. Youse completed his three-year residency and a one-year Mohs surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He’s a board certified dermatologist, fellowship trained Mohs surgeon and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Youse graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine in Columbia, MO. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and graduated as class valedictorian from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO.
