Mattoon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The following information comes from the Mattoon Police Department:
Mattoon Police arrested Jesse A. Baird, 30 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Domestic Battery.

The arrest occurred on May 4th at 10:44pm in the 600 block of Charleston Ave. The charge alleges that Mr. Baird punched a female subject, during a domestic dispute, while they were walking in the 800 block of Charleston Ave.
Mr. Baird was transported to the Coles County Safety and Detention Center.

Mattoon Police arrested Calvin A. Winston, 31 years of age of Danville, IL, for the offense of Possession of Cannabis w/ Intent to Deliver 100-500grams.

The arrest occurred on May 3rd at 2:19pm on Route 16, near the Interstate 57 interchange. The charge alleges that Mr. Winston was found to be in possession of approximately 260 grams of cannabis during a traffic stop.
Mr. Winston was transported to the Coles County Safety and Detention Center.

Mattoon Police arrested Develle C. O’Quinn, 52 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Aggravated Domestic Battery.

The arrest occurred on May 1st at 2:15pm in the 1800 block of Richmond Ave. The charge alleges that Mr. O’Quinn chocked a female subject during a domestic dispute in the 300 block of N. 16th St.
Mr. O’Quinn was transported to the Coles County Safety and Detention Center.

Mattoon Police arrested Sisto J. Cowger, 41 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Aggravated Battery w/ Weapon.

The arrest occurred on May 1st at 11:24pm in the 700 block of S. 29th St. The charge alleges that Mr. Cowger made contact with another individual’s neck with a knife during an argument, which occurred in the 100 block of Miller Rd. earlier in the evening. The victim sustained minor injuries.
Mr. Cowger was transported to the Coles County Safety and Detention Center.
