Effingham County Jail

  • Effingham Police Department arrested 43-year-old Mark E. Mears of Altamont. Mears was arrested on charges of possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Mears with given a notice to appear and released.
  • Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 30-year-old Thomas R. Sprackeln of Effingham, Sprackelen was arrested on a mittimus to IDOC for 18 months for domestic battery with 1-2 previous convictions. Sprackeln is still in custody.
  • Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 30-year-old Derek L Pontious of Mason. Pontious was arrested on a Effingham County failure to appear warrant for possession for cannabis over 100-500 grams with new charges of possession of meth, operating a uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a traffic control device. Pontious is still in custody.
  • Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 22-year-old Shyanne L McCarty of Beecher City. McCarty was arrested on an Effingham County warrant for failure to return from furlough. McCarty is still in custody.
  • Effingham County Sheriff’s Department 28-year-old Bethanie L. Hufford of Vandailia. Hufford was arrested on an Effingham County failure to appear warrant on possession of meth charges. Hufford was given a notice to appear and released.
  • Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 30-year-old Raymond Feltnet of Vandailia. Feltnet was arrested on an Effingham County failure to appear warrant for theft and is still in custody.
  • Effingham County Sheriff’s Department arrested 30-year-old Jennifer N Cocheran-Moore of Clay City. Cocheran-Moore was arrested on a failure to appear warrant for possession of meth, Cocheran-Moore was given a notice to appear and released
