Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On Friday, October 1, 2021, the Shelby County Bar Association hosted a memorial in honor of Phillip Turner, II, Bob Broverman, William Turner and Whit Hardy, all attorneys who practiced law in Shelby County, Illinois and were members of the Shelby County Bar Association, prior to their passing. Attorney Walter Lookofsky, State’s Attorney Nichole Kroncke, Attorney Ruth Woolery and Attorney John Freeman all proposed resolutions for these attorneys, that were accepted by the Court, the Hon. Judge Allan Lolie presided.
After said resolutions were made, Judge Lolie and Judge Kiley made remarks and the floor was then open for comments from the family members and the public. Food and beverages were available for members of the bar and family members that attended the memorial.
“It was a fantastic way for us to honor the beloved and talented members of the bar that passed before us,” said Cari Rincker President of the Shelby County Bar Association. “I am proud to practice law in a community with such rich history.”
The next business meeting for the Shelby County Bar Association will be on October 29th at 12pm.
