Lexington, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On October 12th, 2021, five members from the South Central FFA Chapter participated in the State Land Use Career Development Event. The event was hosted by Illinois State University, at the college’s farm in Lexington, Illinois.
The competition consists of analyzing soil, and grading it on its agriculture and homesite capabilities, by determining slope, drainage, color, parent material and landform. 24 teams and over 90 individuals participated from across the state.
Overall, South Central FFA placed 9th in the competition, and individually, Dennis Wollin came in 25th place and Eli Arenas placed 17th.
