Springfield, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Fallen Champaign police officer Chris Oberheim’s widow is speaking out about a proposed strengthening of a gun law.
Amber Oberheim visited the Illinois statehouse Wednesday to endorse a call for tougher prison sentences for repeat firearms offenders. She also spoke in favor of increased state funding for law enforcement. Her four daughters accompanied her as she stood in front of the Illinois Police Officers Memorial recounting her husband’s death.
Chris Oberheim was shot to death by a suspect in a domestic disturbance call on May 19th.
