Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Health Department sadly announces three COVID-related deaths of individuals in their 70s and 80s, one was unvaccinated, one was not up to date with their vaccines and one was up to date on their vaccinations. These deaths bring the number of confirmed COVID-related deaths in this county to 114.
The Effingham County Health Department also announces 525 new positive cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) reported since Monday; when added to the weekend numbers release on Monday, they bring this week’s total to 707, a 68% increase on last week.

The Illinois Region 6, 7-day rolling test positivity increased to 20.6% through January 11, with Effingham County at 19.6% for the same period. ICU availability in our region is at 15%,
