Montrose, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Montrose Fire Department released the following on their Facebook Page:
“Just after midnight Monday, 5/9/2022 Montrose Fire Protection District along with automatic aid from Teutopolis Fire Protection District responded to I-70 East Bound at the 106 mile marker for a Truck/tractor Semi that left the interstate and rolled over.
The cargo he was carrying was 55 gallon drums of a special kind of acid that was a hazardous material, and small cardboard drums of a vegan food grade powder.
Some of the drums had small leaks in them from the crash.
Heartland Towing along with Bolins Enterprises Environmental Service was called in to clean up the wreckage.
Montrose Fire units cleared the scene around 3 a.m.”
