Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The following announcement comes from the Homewood Grill Facebook Page:
Exciting news!!! 1002 W. Fayette is the future home of Homewood Grill!! It is almost 5 times larger than our current building and it has a drive thru! We can also have outside seating (we talked to the city ahead of time to make sure this time!). We are super excited to start revamping the building to get it ready for next season! Yes, you read that right! We plan to open in the new building in March 2023! We are no longer planning to build a new facility. This one will meet our needs beautifully.
Now, time for some broken hearts. We still plan to only remain open seasonally. Our sales drop dramatically in Aug, Sept, and Oct so we can not justify staying open during the winter. That being said, IF we notice next season that the drive thru is a game changer….we may reconsider.
FAQ: Will there be inside seating since it is such a big building?
Answer: We don’t know yet. We are moving all current equipment and the contents of 4 storage sheds. We just aren’t sure what we will have room for. We want to make sure our team has plenty of space to move around, and we want to add some more ice cream machines to keep up with demand.
We are sad to leave the old building, but we are very excited for this next Chapter!
FAQ: What will happen to the old location?
The old location will be vacant. We do not know what the landlord will do with the building when our lease is up in 2025. We have purchased the new building so we plan to be there forever! We want to thank you all for your continued support.
This year marks 70 years of Homewood Grill. Year 71 will be the best one yet!
