Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Teutopolis Unit 50 Board of Education met on Tuesday evening.
The following took place at the meeting:
- The Board recognized guests and public comments.
- The Board approved the December payment of bills.
- The Board approved the minutes from the December 19, 2022 Levy Hearing and Regular meeting and Executive Session minutes.
- The Board approved the second reading of IASB Press Policy Update 110.
- The Board approved the purchase of vision and hearing screening equipment through the nursing intergovernmental agreement.
- The Board approved the purchase and installation of THS security equipment.
- The Board conducted a six-month review of the Safe Return to School Plan recommendations.
- The Board discussed and reviewed the BOE’s self-evaluation.
- Presentation of reports to the Board included: building updates from Principals and Athletic Directors; Superintendent Report; Certificate of Ballot for April Election; THS Graduation & end-of-year scenarios are expected in February; 2023-24 School Calendar drafts are expected in February; Track bleacher install is expected to be completed on January 20
- The district has received the two 2018 used buses previously purchased
- The Board accepted an irrevocable resignation from: Jody Doyle as TJHS Part-Time Cook; Laurie Thompson as THS Athletic Director upon the conclusion of the 2022-23 year
- The Board approved to hire the following for the 2022-23 academic year contingent upon their successfully meeting all employment requirements: Kayla Ambuehl as THS Secretary; Monique Hortenstine as THS Spring Drama Sponsor; Brandy Niccum as THS Musical Sponsor; Rachel Habing as TJHS Track & Field Coach
- The Board denied a Leave of Absence Request as presented and honorably dismissed an employee upon exhaustion of available leave days.
- The Board approved to keep closed the verbatim records and recordings from Executive Session for the past six months and destroy those older than 18 months as allowable under Illinois School Code 120/2©(21).
