Clay County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- From the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page:
Clay County Sheriff Andy Myers and Clay County State’s Attorney announce that Phillip Blaine Henson was taken into custody in Jacksonville, Florida on January 23rd, 2023, as a result of the No Bond Arrest Warrant issued on October 31, 2022.
Henson removed his GPS monitor without permission, then failed to appear for two court appearances. During those failures to appear, Clay County State’s Attorney Givens obtained a Judgment of Bond Forfeiture on the $125,000.00 cash bond previously posted. Clay County Sheriff Myers continued to work with the U.S. Marshals in order to apprehend Mr. Henson as quickly as possible. A lot of resources are needed on a fugitive traveling across the country.
Sheriff Myers and State’s Attorney Givens are grateful for the hard work and hours put in by the U.S. Marshals. Sheriff Myers and State’s Attorney Givens would also like to commend and thank each person who provided information through the XCRIME app, our Sheriff’s App, or phone calls to the Sheriff’s Office. “Communication between our offices, the U.S. Marshals, and the community was key to the arrest of Henson. We will continue to work together, with other offices, and our community to hold people accountable for their actions.”
Henson currently sits in Duval County, Florida awaiting extradition to Clay County, Illinois. The timeframe for extradition is unknown at this time. A subsequent release will be made upon Henson’s extradition to Clay County. Phillip Blaine Henson is currently charged with the following offenses, Unlawful Deliveries of Methamphetamine, a Class X Felony and Class 1 Felony, and Drug-Induced Homicide, a Class X Felony.
The allegations in this press release are merely charges and Henson is presumed innocent while these charges are pending until proven guilty in a court of law.
