Vandalia, IL-(Vandalia Radio)- A traffic stop helped lead to multiple drug arrests by the Vandalia Police Department this past weekend.
The traffic stop occurred on Friday night and led to the arrest of 44 year old Nick L. Maness on a pending charge of Possession of Methamphetamine. Information gathered led to Officer Zane Steele to request a search warrant from the Fayette County State’s Attorney’s Office. A warrant was then prepared and signed by Judge Marc Kelly at 2:12 am on Saturday morning.
In his report, Officer Steele says that upon arrival at the residence on North 7th Street, Deputy Rich advised there were two individuals in a vehicle in front of the residence. The two individuals were identified as 23 year old Savannah M. Long and 31 year old Eric M. Sidwell. The two were ordered out of the vehicle and Officer Steele says in his report that while Long was getting out of the vehicle, Officer Steele says she attempted to throw a straw on the ground to hide it. Officer Steele says that straw was tested for opiates and tested positive.
Officer Steele says that they then attempted to make contact with the occupants at the residence. Officer Steele says in his report he knocked and announced three times but there was no answer. Officer Steele says that Deputy Rich then used the ram and forced entry into the residence. Officer Steele says in his report that 2 adults and a child were located in the residence. In the report, Officer Steele says that inside the residence there was cannabis and methamphetamine found along with baggies and several items with methamphetamine residue. 43 year old Adam L. Bone was arrested at this time.
Nick L. Maness has been charged in Fayette County Court with Unlawful Possession of less than 5 grams of Methamphetamine, which is a Class 3 Felony. Maness will next appear in Fayette County Court with counsel on February 15th.
Adam L. Bone has been charged in Fayette County Court with Unlawful Possession with intent to deliver Methamphetamine (Class 2 Felony), Unlawful Possession of less than 5 grams of Methamphetamine (Class 3 Felony), Possession with intent to Deliver Cannabis (Class 3 Felony), Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (Class 4 Felony) and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor). Bone will next appear in Fayette County Court with counsel on February 22nd.
Savannah M. Long has been charged in Fayette County Court with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 4 Felony) and Obstruction of Justice (Class 4 Felony). Long will next be in Fayette County Court for a preliminary hearing on February 22nd.
Eric M. Sidwell has been charged in Fayette County Court with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, which is a Class 4 Felony. Sidwell will next appear in Fayette County Court with counsel on February 13th.
