Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- There’s a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms for Central Illinois on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, the entirety of our listening area is under a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms.
The greatest chance of this risk is from 1pm-6pm.
Hazards include isolated wind gusts exceeding 60mph and a brief tornado is possible.
Additionally, winds are expected to increase by Thursday.
Wind gusts within our listening area on Wednesday will range from 40-45mph and 35-45 on Thursday.
This will likely cause loose objects to blow around, difficult travel for high-profile vehicles, and the possibility of isolated power outages.
