Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Marshall Walmart recently donated $750 to Marshall Public Library’s Little Book Beginners program that teaches early literacy to preschoolers age 3, 4 and 5 years old. Little Book Beginners runs September through April each year at the library, thanks to generous local funding.
At each sixty-minute program, Miss Marge, a retired reading teacher, reads the children a story, teaches fingerplays and songs, and leads interactive projects for the children and parents. Children receive a free book to take home at each session and an additional book if they complete a monthly reading log.
