Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Chamber celebrates the opening of new businesses or locations and welcomes new Chamber members with ribbon cuttings, new member pictures, and other events and activities.
Located at Hendelmeyer Park, 1906 S Fourth Street in Effingham, the Effingham Park District is dedicated to providing recreational programs, activities, and facilities that enrich the individual, strengthen families, and benefit the Effingham area community.
The Effingham Park District oversees the three parks within the City of Effingham: Community, Evergreen, and Hendelmeyer while managing a multitude of facilities including the park pavilions, Kluthe Pool, Ron Diehl Center, Harmony Playground, Workman Complex, the batting cages, and the skate park.
The Park District offers a variety of programs and opportunities for kids of all ages and abilities to learn and develop skills and a love for different sports. Along with sports throughout the year, they also offer sports clinics as a way for kids to receive specialized instruction from experts on a variety of sports fundamentals and skills.
The Park District did not forget about the adults in the area. They offer leagues in men’s basketball, softball, volleyball, pickleball, tennis, as well as bridge to match whatever your interest is.
A wonderful benefit to working families in Effingham are the Park Districts camps during the summer months and Christmas break. They are designed for kids to receive the experience of camp while staying local in town.
