Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Severe storms are in the forecast for Friday, but forecasters are still not certain on where the most severe parts of the storm will wind up.
The latest outlook from the Storm Prediction Center continues to focus on severe weather in our region on Friday. A 30% chance of severe thunderstorms is in place over much of the area, though locations near the Indiana border are around 15%. Damaging winds and large hail are the main concerns. The best chance of any tornado activity will be closer to the track of the parent low pressure area, which would currently favor areas northwest of I-55, though there is still some uncertainty at this point.
As we get closer to Friday, the forecast will become more precise and clear. We will keep you updated as the forecast changes.
