Our very own sales representative Bob Shields and Travis Sparks recently took part in this years St. Louis Cardinals Radio Affiliate Day at Busch Stadium. They represented 98.9 The Game WHQQ which broadcasts St Louis Cardinals baseball apart of the Cardinals Radio Network. The Cardinals Radio Network encompasses 147 radio stations nationwide across nine states.
Included in that network is stations that broadcast in Spanish with play by play man Polo Ascencio and color analysis by Bengie Molina. In fact the the Cardinals Radio Network has eight new stations broadcasting in Spanish this season.
On Tuesday evening President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak addressed those in attendance and reassured that even though this is not thestart to the season everyone was anticipating, his message to Cardinals Nation was clear, BE PATIENT!
Mo said that he has confidence in the players the Cardinals have in house to right the ship and if any changes needed to be made the Cardinals would evaluate their best options to improve the club.
Mo also talked about one of the reasons for the slow start could be contributed to the unique offseason with the World Baseball Classic running alongwith spring training this year. The Cardinals had the most players of any major league team with 19 players representing their respective contourites. With Goldschmidt, Arenado, Wainwright, Mikolas, and Nootbar all making it to the championship game with Team USA and Japan.
Mozeliak also explained his process of managing a roster of a major league club. Combining the confidence in the decisions you make with an old philosophy from Tony LaRussa of always having a reason why you make those decisions.
This season has got off to a rocky start in the standards of Cardinals fans but Like the old saying goes Mo has a short memory when it comes to enjoying the wins and not dwelling on the losses.

The Cardinals memory has been put to the test this season and on Tuesday the Cardinals comeback falls short after a six run 4th inning was too much to overcome. Losing the game 8-7 despite a couple of homers from Wilson Contreras and scoring three in the bottom of the 9th.

Wednesday the Cardinals used that short memory with the offense exploding for 14 runs. Thanks to Tommy Edman driving in five runs and just missing out on the cycle. A Nolan Gorman pinch hit grand slam also helped as the Cardinals get the 14-5 win.
