Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- From the Effingham Police Department Facebook Page:
While recently on patrol, Officer Andrew Meyers was called to check the welfare of a young girl who had wrecked her bicycle. When he arrived on the scene, he quickly determined that the bicycle was too big for the girl to operate safely. Officer Meyers quickly collected funds from his co-workers to purchase the young girl a new bicycle that she could safely ride.
This heartwarming gesture exemplifies the strong bond between law enforcement and the community they serve. It serves as a reminder that our police officers are not just protectors, but also caring individuals who go above and beyond to make a positive impact on the lives of those around them.
Great job to all the officers involved!
