JoAnn was born on May 2, 1941, in Sangamon County, IL, the daughter of Harold Mason Fishburn and Velma Marie Shane. She married the love of her life, Robert Dale Hanna on May 26, 1958 in Corinth, MS. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2004.
JoAnn was a loving, caring, supporting, and forgiving mother, grandmother, and friend. Her hobbies included cooking and baking. She made the BEST homemade bread, vegetable soup, banana cookies, and bread pudding with orange sauce, to which she may have withheld secrets on the recipes, because no one can ever make them like she did. She also enjoyed flower gardening, mowing the lawn, listening to music, and housekeeping. Any friend of her kids or grandkids was a friend and more like a family member to her instantly. Her world revolved around her family with so much unconditional and equal love for them all. She supported, encouraged, and defended her family no matter what came their way in life. She never had in-laws, as her children’s spouses became her own children. She had a special love for western movies and The Golden Girls. She always greeted everyone with the biggest smile and a hug. JoAnn was the personnel manager and assistant store manager of Kmart, assistant manager of Rural King, manager of The Village Square Mall, and worked at Crossroads Bank.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Harold “Zeke” (Sandra) Hanna, Olivia (Stanley) Joergens, John Robert Boyd (Carol) Hanna, Joseph Eugene (Noelle) Hanna, and Shane (Tonya) Hanna; grandchildren, Randy (Ashley) Pogatshnik, Jon “JD” Hanna, Quentin Hanna, Savannah Joergens (Matthew Rauch), Hannah (Tony) Koester, Breannah (Jake) Westjohn, Dusty (Andrea) Joergens, Cortney Hanna, Easton (fiancée, Abbey Taylor) Hanna, Rachel Hanna, Maci (Shawn) Zerrusen, Holly (Ian) Thomas, Haley Hanna, Lucas Hanna, and Megan Hanna; 20 great- grandchildren; brothers, Harold “Bob” Fishburn and George “Butch” Fishburn; and her beloved dog, Annie.
