Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Effingham County State’s Attorney Aaron Jones was honored with the Prosecutor Award from the Southern Illinois Police Chiefs Association. Effingham Police Chief Jason McFarland nominated Jones for his unwavering professionalism and work ethic while pursuing justice.
Requirements for this award include serving as a current or full-time State’s Attorney, an Assistant State’s Attorney, or an Assistant U.S. Attorney from the Southern District of Illinois, who have demonstrated through their career to be a successful and competent trial attorney. Recipients of this award display loyalty, dependability, high moral and ethical standards, all while demonstrating awareness and sensitivity to the victims.
Chief McFarland stated “State’s Attorney Jones approaches each case with a profound understanding of the impact of crime on individuals and the community. He fosters trust and confidence in the legal system and has created positive relationships with local law enforcement agencies.”
The award was presented at the 31st annual awards banquet on January 18th, 2024.
