Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- South Central FFA held its annual Ag Day at South Central Elementary Schoolon May 3rd. The event featured various animals and equipment for hands-on interaction.
Meggan Hiestand (the Marion County Farm Bureau ag in the classroom coordinator) provided an engaging lesson about pigs for younger students, while older students learned about trees’ benefits.

Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District and Burke Davies gave us trees to be distributed white pines as part of the tree lesson. There were a couple types of equipment and many different animals.

There were cattle, pigs, horses, rabbits, chickens, sheep, and goats for the students to see and interact with.
