Marion, IL-(Effingham Radio)- In between games of a double header at Mt. Dew Park, a Marion HS Senior, who received a kidney transplant from his Army Staff Sargent dad, learned that his Make-A-Wish dream has been answered.
In a week the LA Dodgers will fly him and his parents to Los Angeles. They’ll see the sights and their trip will culminate at venerable Dodgers Stadium at LA takes on the Angels. He learned all this just before throwing the first pitch.
You can read the announcement that went over the speakers at the game Tuesday below.
“Our next first pitch participant is Braxton Kincheloe of Marion. But before Braxton takes the mound, we have a little surprise for him from his parents.
Braxton was born with a disabling kidney disease that created multiple challenges throughout his childhood. Still, Braxton has been an inspiration to his family and friends because he’s faced each hurdle head-on and with a smile.
Two years ago, the Kincheloe family started a whole new chapter in their impressive story. Braxton’s father, Army Staff Sargent Jesse Kincheloe, selflessly donated one of his kidneys to Braxton and miraculously, his body has excepted the lifesaving transplant.
Now a Senior at Marion High School, Braxton has long been a huge LA Dodgers fan. Braxton’s mother Danielle wanted nothing more than for her son to see his favorite team at Dodgers Stadium.
The Thrillbillies are honored to share tonight that, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Illinois and the Los Angeles Dodgers… Braxton you have been granted your wish! Later this month, you are flying to Los Angeles!
Braxton, you and your parents will have several days in LA to see the sights and your trip will culminate with an interleague dream match-up as the Dodgers take on the Angels at venerable Dodgers Stadium!
Let’s hear it for Braxton and his parents! They have proven that with love, perseverance, and a smile, wishes can come true! Congratulations!”
