Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham Public Library Board held their regular meeting Monday and went over a variety of agenda items.
The Board approved the May 20th minutes, accepted the financial report for April and May, accepted account balances, and approved the June bills.
The Board also passed the maintenance levy ordinance that has a maximum and minimum of .02. The Board also approved the FY2024 Illinois Public Library Annual Report, and approved a contract with FGM Architects.
The Board also discussed a few items, starting with a reminder about prevailing wage, as it is state law. Amanda McKay said that the Library has enough money now to pay off the mortgage on their building. It has been almost 9 years since the Library moved to their current location on 3rd Street. The Board also reviewed a spring campaign report from Orange Boy, which ran a targeted marketing campaign to get people signed up with the library. In all there were 120 new signups, and 322 re-engaged “lapsed users,” which are people who had a library card previously but let the membership expire.
