Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The SAFE-T Act has been law in Illinois for about 9 months now. It brought with it the elimination of cash bail, and the idea of the law is that no one is held in jail because they lack the funds to pay off bail. But, like with any new law, there are some kinks to work out as it is put into effect.
Sheriff Kuhns gave some details on what has happened since its implementation, and shared thoughts on what can be done to fix some of the problems.
