DHS Trap Team With Dieterich Village Board Members
Dieterich, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Dieterich Village Board honored Dieterich students for their recent success in state tournaments at their Monday meeting.
Ryan Rich was honored for winning First Place at the State Competition for Mathematics and First Place in the State Competition for Computer Science in 2024 and previously in 2023.
The DHS Trap Team was also honored for 1st place in 1A Varsity and 2nd place in 1A Junior Varsity. 14 students participated in the tournament.
The Board also heard from Tick Tock Energy about getting solar panels installed at the Village Hall. In order to qualify for numerous incentives and tax credits, the signup process needs to happen soon. It was mentioned that the solar panels are likely to pay for themselves over time, and will be under warranty for at least 10 years. Tick Tock Energy said that they have seen very little problems with the solar panels, and they are very durable. The Board is likely to move forward with the signup for the solar panels.
Village Engineer Lee Beckman also gave updates on storm sewer projects, and said work at the cemetery is going as planned. He also mentioned that another round of flood buyouts is set to happen later this month.
The Board also:
- Consider for approval Ordinance 1169-2024: Authorizing the Transfer of Real Estate (EJ Water – Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 Dieterich Industrial Park East)
- Consider for approval hiring Triple A Asbestos to remove asbestos from 106 N Vine Street for $2,665.00
- Review and discuss draft Village Hall roof replacement bid documents
- Review and discuss draft boot and work wear policy updates
