Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- University of Illinois System President Tim Killeen and system leadership will meet with University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign alumnus and donor Richard Siemer, president of Siemer Milling Company, to discuss the strong connections between academia and agriculture. The 11:30 a.m. meeting on Thursday, Sept. 26 at the company’s Teutopolis office, 111 W. Main St., is open to the news media.
The company announced in February a $1 million gift to launch the Siemer Milling Company Professorship and the Illinois Wheat Initiative within the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at Urbana-Champaign.
The University of Illinois System’s annual state tour strengthens partnerships, showcases successful initiatives and explores opportunities for collaboration and partnership with communities across Illinois. The tour addresses key areas such as economic development, innovation, access and affordability, and sustainability — all with the goal of improving the lives of the state’s residents.
