Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The County Board met Monday and proposed the budget for the new fiscal year. The levy and budget were delayed until the end of next month when things are more finalized.
The Board approved the following:
- Resolution Requesting Consent to the Reappointment of the Incumbent as County Engineer
- Minor Subdivision by Jack Poff Located NW of Shumway
- Authorization for County Board Chairman to Draft RFP for Historic Courthouse Roof Replacement and Investigate Funding Opportunities for Project
- Approved Removal of Dying Tree on SE Corner of Historic Courtyard with Replacement of New Tree
- Approve Stipend of up to $1000.00 Monthly for Premium of County Employees Enrolled in County Group Health Coverage Programs along with Stipend of $1650.00 to Health Savings Accounts of Enrolled Employees
- Approved Eliminating Group Health Insurance Waiver Incentive
- Approved Eliminating Medicare Incentive
- Approved Allocation of $100,000.00 of Opioid Settlement Funding to Effingham County Sheriff’s Office
- Approved Return of $60.91 in Previously Allocated ARPA Funding for Mason Township Park District to ARPA Funds
- Approve Allocation of $54,895.00 in ARPA Funding for Historic Courtyard and Gazebo Project
- Approved Intergovernmental Agreement with County of Effingham and City of Effingham for Historic Courtyard and Gazebo Project (Sandy Rich abstained)
- Approved Allocation of $3600.00 in ARPA Funding to Childcare Research Committee for Gap Scholarship Recipient Retroactive to September 2024
- Approved Allocation of $3600.00 in ARPA Funding to Childcare Research Committee for Gap Scholarship Recipient
- Approve Disbursement of $15,000.00 to Effingham Regional Growth Alliance
- Approved Effingham Sheriff’s Office Disposal of Abandoned Property to FISH
- Approved Disbursement of $98,421.00 for Payment to Superior Windows Company
- Approve F&C Concrete Agreement for Historic Courtyard and Gazebo Project Without Committee Recommendation
The Board also met in closed session and approved purchase of real estate, three acres of land on the northwest corner of Pike Avenue and Raney Street. The Board said it will be the site of the County Public Transportation System. The County bought the land for $150k.
