Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Supporting Student Success Through Professional Development and Collaboration
The Regional Office of Education #3 (ROE 3) is excited to announce that its Truancy Team attended the annual International Association for Truancy and Dropout Prevention (IATDP) Conference. The conference, known for gathering professionals dedicated to reducing student dropout rates and chronic absenteeism, took place In Charlotte, NC, October 6-9, 2024.
The IATDP Conference provides an invaluable opportunity for truancy professionals, educators, administrators, and support staff to learn, collaborate, and share effective strategies for preventing truancy and promoting student retention. Through workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions, the ROE 3 Truancy Team engaged with other experts in the field, gaining insights into innovative methods and best practices that can help at-risk students stay on track academically and socially.
“We are thrilled to participate in the IATDP Conference this year,” said Julie Morell, Truancy Officer, ROE 3 Truancy Team. “Attending this conference allows us to explore new ways to support students and their families, empowering them to overcome barriers to attendance and reach their full potential. We look forward to bringing back knowledge and strategies that can make a real difference in our local schools.”
The conference agenda covered a wide range of topics related to truancy and dropout prevention, including early intervention tactics, mental health resources, and community partnership models.
