Robert L. “Bob” Anderson, 82, of Louisville, Illinois passed away at 8:43 am, Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at his home.
Bob was born on October 4, 1942, at home in Clay County, Illinois the son of Lowell and Pauline (Jones) Anderson. He was united in marriage to Judith Anne Hockman on May 27, 1961, and she then preceded him in death on January 30, 1989. He then married Patricia Walborn Bateman on June 1, 1991, in Louisville, and they shared 33 years of marriage.
Bob was a true sports enthusiast. An avid softball player in his youth, he nurtured a deep-rooted affection for the Cardinals and Illini Baseball games. He found solace in the great outdoors, where he would often be found bird hunting or meticulously tending to his yard. Bob was a proud member of the Red Brush Christian Church in Louisville. Bob spent many rewarding years working at World Color Press in Effingham, where his diligence and dedication were highly valued.
Bob is survived by his wife: Patricia Anderson of Louisville; children: Leigh Anne (Terry) Walk of St. Elmo, Illinois, Ryan Neal (Michael Doyle) Anderson of Chicago, Illinois; stepchildren: Michael Alan Bateman of Colorado, Lori Ann Knight, of Boise, Idaho; son-in-law: Jimmy Glass of Montana; his beloved fur baby: Mindy; grandchildren: Morgan (Darrell) Logue, Michaela (Dylan) Cottonaro, Makenzie Walk; step grandchildren: Reece, Cassie, Bryce, Sierra, Ian; 11 great grandchildren; sister: Patsy Greenwood of Noble; brother: Jack Anderson of Xenia; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Tracy Lynn Anderson; sister: Joann Phillips; brother: Billy Anderson.
Funeral services to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, November 18, 2024, at the Red Brush Christian Church, Louisville with Ron Payne officiating. Following the services cremation rites will take place. A visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bob’s memory to the Red Brush Christian Church Building Fund.
