Springfield, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Illinois House during their Fall Veto Session paused to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of the IHSA Class 2A State Champion St. Anthony High School boys baseball team. State Representative Brad Halbrook read House Resolution 898 passed in their honor as Bulldog players and coaches watched from the House Gallery.
“When these determined young men came up short in the 2023 super sectional their mantra became ‘job not finished’. After this year’s phenomenal championship season, they can change that to ‘job finished!” Rep. Halbrook said.
The St. Anthony Bulldogs defeated Maroa-Forsyth for the IHSA Class 2A championship title. The team won seven straight victories in the 2024 post-season and ended their season with an overall record of 27-5-1. Two Bulldog players were named to the all-state team.
“Congratulations Bulldogs on an amazing 2024 season!” Rep. Halbrook concluded
