Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- The FBI is warning online holiday shoppers to beware of scam websites. The bureau put out a news release this week ahead of Cyber Monday for shoppers who use Chrome, Safari and Edge browsers, warning of online security risks.
The warning includes a checklist of how not to get scammed, like avoiding websites that don’t have a padlock in the address bar, meaning the website is not secure. The experts also say don’t buy from a website until you have researched it and read reviews on it, and to make sure the reviews aren’t fake.
